Erica Friedman is a foremost expert on the development of yuri manga and anime, comic book and animated depictions of women-women relationships, as well as on their fandoms both in the US and Japan. She has been a fan of this genre for many years, including running fan-based publications and a professional publishing house to promote English translations of yuri manga.
