LECTURER, MIT Women’s and Gender Studies Program (WGS), (two part-time openings) to teach six individual undergraduate courses for Fall 2026 – Spring 2027. Will teach either a 2-1 or a 1-2 course load.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Masters in related field by July 1, 2026 and at least 2 years of college teaching experience backgrounding Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary instruction.

For Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, the MIT WGS is seeking candidates who can teach up to two of the following per semester: WGS.109 Women and Global Activism in Media and Politics, WGS.110 Sexual and Gender Identities in Modern United States, WGS.115 Gender and Technology, WGS.117 Queering Digital Humanities, WGS.118 Gender in the Visual Arts, WGS.151 Gender and Public Health, WGS.181 Queer Cinema and Visual Culture, WGS.183 Feminism and Data, WGS.224 Race, Gender, and Social Inequality in Reproductive Health Care, WGS.260 Topics in Queer Studies, WGS.278 Topics in Critical Disability Studies, and WGS.312 Feminist Geographies.
