 

#  Caroline Light Article Appears in Signs Issue Edited by Durba Mitra

 [Professor Caroline Light](/people/caroline-light)'s article "[What Real Empowerment Looks Like”: White Rage and the Necropolitics of Armed Womanhood](https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/toc/signs/current)" has been published in *[Signs](https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/toc/signs/current)*, one of the foremost journals of feminist studies. The article appeared in a [special issue on Rage](https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/toc/signs/2021/46/4) and discusses "the intersecting racial and gender logics of women’s armed response to patriarchal violence."

 This issue of *Signs* was co-edited by WGS's [Professor Durba Mitra](/people/durba-mitra), Sarah Haley, and Carla Kaplan, who co-wrote the issue's introduction, "[Outraged/Enraged: The Rage Special Issue](https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/713300)."

 WGS congratulates Professor Light on the appearance of this new article and Professor Mitra on the release of this issue of *Signs!*
