WGS Professor Caroline Light appeared in The New York Times in a piece titled ["Who Gets Killed in Self-Defense?"](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/09/04/opinion/women-kill-self-defense.html)  
  
The article references Professor Light's book, *Stand Your Ground: A History of America’s Love Affair With Lethal Self-Defense,* and reflects on Professor Light's insight into how traditional views about the idea of "stand your ground" do not incorporate the perspective of a spouse being attacked in their own home, rather than an intruder.
