#  Durba Mitra Publishes Article in Signs

 Professor [Durba Mitra](/people/durba-mitra) has published a new research article, ["The Report, or, Whatever Happened to Third World Feminist Theory?"](https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/723270) in the most recent issue of the leading feminist journal, *Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society*. In "The Report," Professor Mitra critically analyzes the rise of the social science report, which serves the primary genre of research in a multinational knowledge industry of research on women, gender, and sexuality around the world. The essay features research from Professor Mitra's book, *The Future That Was*, under contract with Princeton University Press.
