All students who plan to graduate in May must file the appropriate paperwork by their school's deadline in order to receive their secondary field.
Monday, March 26, 2018 is the last day upon which May 2018 degree candidates may declare a secondary field. There are no exceptions to this deadline. If you haven’t done so already, please declare your secondary field online via my.harvard. You can find instructions here.
If you have any trouble with the my.harvard form, please contact Enrollment Services: firstname.lastname@example.org. WGS secondary field candidates who have questions about requirements should review the information found here.
WGS concentrators pursuing a secondary field in another department should contact that department for questions about requirements.
Friday, April 6, 2018 is the last day upon which GSAS students who are planning to graduate in May 2018 with a secondary field in WGS may submit a completed and signed Ph.D. Secondary Field Application to the Office of the Registrar. There are no exceptions to this deadline.
Visit the GSAS website's Secondary Field Instructions and Application page for more information on graduate filing procedures and to download a PDF of the Secondary Field Application form.
To complete your form, you will need the signature of WGS’ Director of Graduate Studies, Sarah Richardson. Please email her to make an appointment during her office hours or another time. To this appointment, you will need to bring the completed application form along with an updated copy of your CV and a copy of the paper or dissertation chapter you are using to fulfill the requirement to write an article-length paper suitable for publication.
NOTE: Students from outside GSAS should contact their own school’s Registrar to determine if they are subject to different deadlines/requirements.
