 The Harvard Gazette interviewed [Professor Marya Mtshali](/people/marya-mtshali) on her current research on interracial couples. In the [interview](https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2021/02/taking-a-scholarly-look-at-race-and-romance/), Mtshali discussed "the long history of American fears of racial mixing, the importance of decentering whiteness in discussions of race and relationships, and why we should value love as a scholarly subjects."
