#  Marya Mtshali's Recent Ash Center Talk in Harvard Gazette

“Spring is here. It’s warm. We want to be outside, but we also know for some groups of us, being outdoors is a little bit more complicated,” said Harvard lecturer and postdoctoral research fellow [Marya T. Mtshali](/people/marya-mtshali), kicking off a recent [Ash Center](https://ash.harvard.edu/) talk on structural racism in America’s national parks. Professor Mtshali was part of panel on 'the Great Outdoors' that focused on a history of systemic racism found in our national parks.
