WGS professor [Michael Bronski](/people/michael-bronski) was featured in today's *[Harvard Gazette](https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2020/06/harvard-experts-call-ruling-on-lgbt-rights-a-landmark/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily%20Gazette%2020200617%20(1))*, where he weighed in on the Supreme Court's recent ruling to protect gay and transgender workers. Bronski, a longtime LGBT activist, calls the ruling "extraordinary" in terms of scope. “I would say it’s a bigger decision than Obergefell v. Hodges \[which legalized same-sex marriage in 2015\]. That was a nondiscrimination decision that affected a specific group of people, those who wanted to get married. Whereas this is a nondiscrimination decision that affects 9 million people.” The article also featured long-time WGS affiliate [Timothy Patrick McCarthy](https://www.hks.harvard.edu/faculty/timothy-patrick-mccarthy) of the Harvard Kennedy School.
