 WGS professor [Michael Bronski](/people/michael-bronski)'s essay, "Brigid Brophy’s Paradoxical World of Childhood" has been published in a new, critical book about Brigid Brophy, a novelist, critic, and social reformer. The book, *[Brigid Brophy: Avant-Garde Writer, Critic, Activist](https://edinburghuniversitypress.com/book-brigid-brophy.html)* (Edinburgh University Press, 2020, ed. Canning & Kimber) explores all aspects of Brophy’s eclectic career, alongside contributions on animal rights, vegetarianism, anti-vivisectionism, humanism, feminism and sexual politics.
