 

#  WGS Alum Jia Hui Lee's Research Featured in MIT News

 WGS Alum Jia Hui Lee was featured in an *MIT News* article, "[When rats work to protect human safety](https://news.mit.edu/2019/jia-hui-lee-student-0906)". Lee (AB '12), now a PhD candidate in MIT’s History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology, and Society (HASTS) program, is reseraching global differences in human-animal relationships, including those between landmine-detecting rats and their handlers, and is interested to learn what these relationships show about the impact of technology on society. “The knowledge I hope to produce out of this research is in conversation with zoology, biology, and cognitive science. It includes histories of human-animal interactions which are usually left out in other kinds of disciplines,” says Lee.
