WGS graduate student [Luca Istodor](https://conferences.wcfia.harvard.edu/undergraduate_thesis/people/luca-istodor) published part of their thesis research in the journal *Sexualities*, which centers on LGBTQ+ rights in Guyana. Their thesis, *[Beyond the Timeline of Progress: Comparing Online Sources with Lived LGBTQ+ Experiences in Guyana](https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/13634607221106671)*, calls for an approach to LGBTQ+ Global South representations that center "the nuances and complexities of intersectional local voices and activism, going beyond liberal Western ideals around LGBTQ+ rights."

Please join WGS in congratulating Luca on their publication!
