Examining the relationship between Black theology and Black literature from the post-war period through the late 1980s with special attention to theoretical articulations of Blackness, on one hand, and critical-theoretical discourses of freedom, such as abolition, emancipation, and liberation, on the other.

 **Research Methods:**   
Textual and discourse analysis; archival research; cultural and intellectual historical methods

 **Languages:**   
English, German, Spanish, New Testament Greek

 **Areas of Interest:**
