"Afro-Filipino Archives: Sound Cultures and Performance Aesthetics, 1898-2020"

**Research Methods:**  
Literary Analysis, Archival Theory and Practice, Performance Studies, Sound Studies, Sensory Ethnography, Ethnic Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies

**Areas of Interest:**   
20th-21st century transnational American literature, performance, and popular culture, with emphases in comparative Filipino / Filipinx American and African American Studies, empire, war, and interracial intimacies.

**Additional Information:**   
My current project examines Afro-Filipino theater and cabaret performers, musicians, and poets, from 1898 to the present, such as Maggie Calloway, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Marpessa Dawn, Jayne Cortez, Joe Bataan, Ronaldo Wilson, and Toro y Moi. My project spans multiple geographies including the Philippines, U.S., and France.
