Charmaine Nelson Named Canada Research Chair in Transatlantic Black Diasporic Art and Community Engagement

Former WGS William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies (2017-2018) Charmaine A. Nelson has recently been appointed Canada Research Chair in Transatlantic Black Diasporic Art and Community Engagement at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD). Professor Nelson will be using the fully funded, seven-year position to develop the Institute for the Study of Canadian Slavery as “a hub for the study of art, visual cultures and histories of Canadian Slavery and its legacies.”
