George Paul Meiu Receives Tenure
WGS Standing Committee member George Paul Mieu has received tenure. As of July 1, he will be promoted to Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Department of African and African American Studies. Professor Mieu teaches Sex, Money, and Power in the Postcolonial World, and is the author of Ethno-erotic Economies: Sexuality, Money, and Belonging in Kenya, which won received the Ruth Benedict Prize from the Association of Queer Anthropology, the Nelson Graburn Book Prize from the Anthropology of Tourism Interest Group.
