San Filippo Wins Lammy Award
WGS congratulates former lecturer Maria San Filippo, who received the Lambda Literary Award (Lammy) for Bisexual Nonfiction for her first book, The B Word: Bisexuality in Contemporary Film and Television.
Two other WGS faculty members also received nominations for Lammy Awards this year. Afsaneh Najmabadi's book Professing Selves: Transsexuality and Same-Sex Desire in Contemporary Iran was a finalist in the LGBT studies category, and Michael Bronski's book " (co-authored with former Director of Undergraduate Studies Ann Pellegrini and Michael Amico) was a finalist for LGBT nonfiction.
Writer, editor, and WGS alum Mitch Kellaway '13 was a judge for this year's Lambda Awards.
