WGS professor Marya Mtshali was recently quoted in articles by National Journal and USA Today on racial bias in healthcare and how to ensure equal access to COVID vaccines when they’re available. Mtshali also recently published the article How medical bias against black people is shaping Covid-19 treatment and care in Vox online and her course, WOMGEN 1274 Gender, Race, and Poverty in the United States was mentioned by students in the blog "Gold Star Teaching Moves" as an example of distance learning at its best.
