Viterna Wins Sociology Book Award

WGS Standing Committee member and Associate Professor of Sociology Jocelyn Viterna has received the Eastern Sociological Society's 2015 Komarovsky Award for her book Women in War: The Micro-processes of Mobilization in El Salvador.

Viterna's book has also been honored with the 2014 Distinguished Book Award from the American Sociologic Association’s (ASA) Section on Sex and Gender and the 2014 Distinguished Book Award from the ASA Section on Political Sociology, as well as an honorable mention for the 2014 Distinguished Book Award from the ASA Section on the Sociology of Development.
