WGS Alums Win American Studies Prizes

WGS alum Emily Owens won the John Hope Franklin Prize for her book Consent in the Presence of Force and alum Jewel Pereyra won the Ralph Henry Gabriel Prize for the best dissertation of the year for her dissertation titled "Afro-Filipina Aesthetics: Transnational Sound Cultures and Dance Performances, 1898-1978".
