WGS Faculty, Graduate Student Publish in Top Scientific Journal

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has published an opinion piece, "Focus on preclinical sex differences will not address women’s and men’s health disparities," co-written by WGS Professor Sarah Richardson, Meredith Reiches (former WGS lecturer, Harvard Human Evolutionary Biology PhD, and UMass Boston Asst. Professor of Anthropology), and Heather Shattuck-Heidorn (WGS graduate secondary fielder and Human Evolutionary Biology PhD candidate).

Along with Michelle Lynn LaBonte and Theresa Consoli, the authors contend that requiring sex as a variable in preclinical studies will do little to mitigate human health disparities, but will likely rather introduce conceptual and empirical errors into research.
