Professor Bronski's new work demonstrates that LGBTQ people have long been vital to shaping our understanding of what America is today. "[T]there is no such thing a gay or lesbian history: it is all American history and we just need to uncover this lost history—much of which has been suppressed either consciously or accidentally—and see where it fits in the larger picture", quotes Bronski from his book in an interview with Newsweek. A Queer History of the United States for Young People rediscovers this lost history and confronts the untold aspects of the American story that are have often been left out of classrooms and textbooks.
