As director of administration and operations, Amy Parker oversees the financial and staffing operations, program and course events, communications, and other administrative functions of the program. She also serves as the liaison between WGS, College, and University programs and works with the Chair and WGS faculty to balance university policy with programmatic goals.

She joined WGS as program coordinator in September 2008. Prior to signing on with WGS, she worked for four years at the Harvard Society of Fellows where she enjoyed getting to know promising young scholars in fields ranging from Slavic studies to string theory.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and studied performance studies at NYU, where she was an editorial assistant at Women & Performance Journal. She moved to Boston in the summer of 2004 after spending several years abroad studying cooking and baking at the Cordon Bleu school in Paris and Scandinavian folk fiddling at a rural community college in Sweden.
