Lecturer on Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality -- Fall 2023
C.Wells

I received my Ph.D. from Harvard University’s Department of South Asian Studies with a Secondary Field in the Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. I examine the intellectual systems of South Asia – particularly Nyāya, Mīmāṃsā, and Buddhist philosophy – as well as feminist philosophy and the philosophy of race. My most recent research interests involve analyzing Naiyāyika nominalism as a framework for gendered and racial perceptions, critiquing the semantics of color-blind race-talk, and theorizing a Mīmāṃsika framework for how hate speech constitutes harmful norms for marginalized communities.”
