December 2, 2020WGS Professor Caroline Light authored an op ed on newly proposed “stand your ground” legislation in Florida. In the piece, which appeared in the Tampa Bay Times, Light provides evidence that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ “Combating Violence, Disorder and Looting and Law Enforcement Protection Act,” will ultimately make Floridians, especially protestors against racial violence, less safe by criminalizing protest and providing cover for armed vigilante groups.
