Areas of Interest:
20th-21st century transnational American literature, performance, and popular culture, with emphases in comparative Filipino / Filipinx American and African American Studies, empire, war, and interracial intimacies.

Additional Information:
My current project examines Afro-Filipino theater and cabaret performers, musicians, and poets, from 1898 to the present, such as Maggie Calloway, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Marpessa Dawn, Jayne Cortez, Joe Bataan, Ronaldo Wilson, and Toro y Moi. My project spans multiple geographies including the Philippines, U.S., and France.
